Should the internet be a human right? Yes, I believe it should. It's the same question as, should freedom be a human right. Think about it, the internet is the and i emphasize on the biggest learning tool ever created by man kind. Without it the world would not as advanced in fields such as medicine and engineering if we didn't have it. Without a super computer for example we would not have decoded the human genome and therefor not being able to understand the body like we do today. The result would be the lack of cures for certain diseases. It should be a right because without it people would not be able to communicate as easily. Take my situation for example I have divorced parents and my dad lives overseas. Thanks to the Ipad 2 i can now Facetime with my dad and maintain our relationship. Yes it has it's cons such as lack of privacy and addiction but so does every other awesome human creation ever made.To take away this right is not only detrimental to our society but very pointless because people will find a way to get around it . Almost all cell phones now are mini computers so even if they do block it, a lot of company's will complain and even create law suit's because they will loose a massive portion of their sales. Take Mr Prescott speech about our generation being based on technology and having a different brain because of it. If you take away what, the thing we have been using our hole lives, what do you think will be the consequences to that. Now we also have to understand that even thought the older generation are plugged in, they will never have the same grasp as the net generation said Mr. Prescott and that could lead to fear and other stupid things like books explaining how we are the stupidest generation that has ever lived. But I believe that if everyone puts the effort in to become plugged we will all improve our world in a positive way where everyone will be happy. That and the addition of learning how to regulate and control the hours used on the internet.
